Ottawa, ON, November 3, 2025 – We’re excited to welcome Rita Plaskett, CMP, CMM, VEMM, who will be joining AV-CANADA as our Vice President, Business Development – Ottawa and Eastern Canada. Rita brings a diverse skillset to the events space, having owned a successful planning company in the hospitality industry for 23 years as well as having taught at George Brown College in the hospitality, meeting, and management program for 10 years. Her knowledge of the events industry and education is invaluable.
To further highlight her accomplishments, she has held multiple leadership roles at fortune 500 companies such as Maritz and PDAC. She has also upheld Global Chair of the MPI Foundation, as well as Presidential roles across multiple associations such as the MPI Toronto Chapter and CanSPEP. She balances her industry expertise with a key interest in progress and giving back through education and leadership.
We’re proud to have worked with Rita over the past 30 years across different event and AV production requirements and heartily welcome her to our team. After her career long success as a meeting planner, Rita pivoted to learning about the AV industry and got certified in Virtual Event Meeting Management. Her expertise extends to AV production, event planning, virtual events, hybrid events, hospitality and more.
Rita shares our AV-CANADA client-first mindset, prioritizes service and problem-solving, and has a strong understanding of the needs of associations and event planners in delivering successful conferences, meetings, AGMs, tradeshows and events, from inception to execution. We are looking forward to having her lead our Eastern Canada division.
