We had a blast this season sponsoring Cayden Goodridge from vpxmotorsport, driving the Porsche GT4RS! Fondly known as Peppermint, we loved following the car from race to race across Canada and the US. This sponsorship meant a lot to us, AV-CANADA & AV-AMERICA, as the parallels between a race team and event team both require the ability to succeed within high pressure environments.
So, our clients and fellow #eventprofs asked, what are the synergies between a racing team and an event team?
- Goal-oriented: Both racing teams and event teams have a clear end goal, to win the race and to execute a successful event. This common goal drives each team member to work together towards a common path.
- Specialized roles: Race teams and event teams both plan meticulously, with each member having a specialized role and responsibilities that contribute to the final success of the race or event. From the pit crew to the engineer to the driver to the win, from the AV techs to the event planner to the client to a successful event; each team member plays a vital part in achieving success.
- Communication and Coordination: Effective communication and coordination are key to the success of both racing and event teams. In a racing team, clear communication between the driver, pit crew, and team managers is essential for executing successful pit stops and race strategies. Similarly, event teams must communicate effectively with vendors, sponsors, and attendees to ensure that the event runs smoothly.
- Problem-solving: Both racing teams and event teams must be prepared to handle unexpected challenges and obstacles that may arise during a race or event. Quick thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving skills are essential for overcoming these challenges and ensuring a successful outcome.
- Attention to detail: This is key for both racing and event teams to help ensure we succeed. With meticulous planning, commitment to training, continuously learning and taking calculated risks, we can fine tune a car for a winning race, and can plan and execute a flawless event for our clients.
In conclusion, both racing and event teams require dedication, skill, and a collaborative spirit to achieve their goals! The ability to learn from mistakes, trust peers and to innovate is key in the racing and events industry, where there is a high level of risk and even higher rewards. We aim to serve and succeed! AV-CANADA & AV-AMERICA are thrilled to continue this key sponsorship in 2025 and will be sharing more on our social channels.
