We had such a great year with planting trees, starting green initiatives, making donations, supporting other associations’ charity events and sponsoring through offering our AV services for the events industry. We would like to share about them all but will mention the top few for now. We hope you will feel inspired to learn more on how you can also get involved.
Carbon Neutral by 2027
We are committed to reaching carbon neutral by 2027! This year we upgraded our entire office and warehouse location with LED lighting. Due to the square footage of our facility, we had to do this in two parts starting with our in-house equipment warehouse and continuing to our head office.
30 Trees for 30 Years in Business
We have been in business for 30 years! To celebrate, we decided to focus on bettering the world around us so we planted 30 trees around our office to help support our goal to be carbon neutral by 2027. Each tree represents each year we have been in business.
The entire AV-CANADA team was excited and grateful to be involved in meaningful efforts to care about our environment. We appreciate the support of our clients, partners and industry as we drive our business forward and continue to educate and support the events industry.
MPI Annual Golf Tournament
We started the MPI Annual Golf Tournament 25 years ago and are excited to sponsor and celebrate with the MPI Toronto Chapter. This event helps bring together event professionals in our industry whether they are beginner golfers or golf pros! This avenue for everyone to come together, learn, have fun, and network helps us all thrive and grow. What better way to do it than on a sunny golf course!
Canadian Meetings + Events Expo and MPIF Canadian Council
With our custom LED wall, we created a gaming environment of F1 racing at our booth at CMEE 2023. Visitors joined our booth to compete in the #MPIFracetodonate where they competed for high scores and won cash prizes. AV-CANADA sponsored 250 plays at $10/play for booth visitors and donated $2,500 to the MPIF Canadian Council! What better way to give back to our events community than through some friendly competition!
MPI Toronto Chapter Winter Social and Mississauga Food Bank
We always strive to support our local MPI Toronto Chapter. This year we contributed a Louis Vuitton handbag worth approx. 3K for the MPI raffle. If that was not incentive enough, we also donated $5 to the Mississauga Food Bank per raffle ticket purchased, for a total donation of $1,000! This amount provides 2000 meals for local families during the holiday season.
TSEF Earth Day
We have supported the TSEF since 2019 by sponsoring and delivering all the in-person and virtual sessions for the TSEF Earth Day event. We are so pleased with the attendance this year, as we produced the virtual event zoom webinar with added Q&A sessions and polling capabilities for 300 people!
TSEF Harvest Celebration
We also support the TSEF Harvest Celebration and sponsor and produce the virtual event zoom seminar with Q&A sessions and polling for 250 people! We hope to continue to grow the events and support TSEF every year.
CanSPEP
We are proud to sponsor the CanSPEP Gives Back event this year. The entire event was dedicated to stuffing shelter kits with warm winter items, food items and hygiene products. What a great way to give back during the holidays as participants sipped warm beverages and got to building warm kits to support our local communities.
We offered our warehouse as the venue for this great event and built a full holiday wonderland with a large LED wall, LCD monitors showing falling snow, custom speakers for holiday music, as well as decor, food, seating, staging and the kit building stations. We are so grateful to be able to support other event professionals with their events to give back to the community.
CSAE Tete-a-tete
We are thrilled to sponsor CSAE Tete-a-tete, the largest CSAE event in Ottawa with 1000 in-person attendees and 500 virtual attendees.
We created a custom large stage for the main hall, as well as 10×30 large screens with an LCD set design and custom colored lighting with CSAE brand purples and blues in the plenary room. Each of our efforts included full PA systems for speakers, amps and microphones. Not only did we sponsor the physical elements of the event, we also streamed live to CSAE’s own platform.
CSAE Summer Summit
AV-CANADA has sponsored the CSAE Summer Summit for 15 years, right from when it started. It has been such a great experience being part of its growth to 230 attendees!
We show our support by offering full AV services for the main and plenary rooms including audio, visuals, lighting, stage design, tech support and more. We also helped with registration set up, board meetings and the opening reception.
CSAE Annual Conference
Our support doesn’t end there as we also sponsor the CSAE Annual Conference. This year we had a blast doing a custom 60 feet wide LED wall flanked by 2 portrait live video screens with IMAG cameras. This immersive production was part of the main keynote speaker. We also offered support for 7 breakout rooms and registration areas as well as custom lighting and PA systems.
It has been a great year as we are grateful to be able to support such wonderful causes, associations, organizations and event professionals in our industry. Let’s continue to do more each year!
